Thank you for coming out to the StoryRise event this past weekend. We’re grateful to the Glendale Public Library for hosting our after-hours event. Thank you, too, to the staff of Perfetto de Cafe who provided great hospitality and affordable snacks and meals. Of course, thanks as well to Elly Reidy for her role as our featured teller for the evening. If you missed the event, please check out the Podcast page for the latest free listen. You can also download the flyer for the evening from this link here.
See you next month, December 19, for another great event. Our guest teller will be Liz Warren.

Our next StoryRise is Saturday November 21 at 7PM
NEW LOCATION FOR THIS EVENT:
Glendale Public Library Atrium
5959 W Brown
Glendale, AZ.
Featured Teller: Elly Reidy
The next StoryRise Event will be at the
Glendale Main Library Coffee Shop area run by Perfetto de Cafe.
Show begins at 7PM but arrive early to buy a drink and settle in.
The library address is 5959 West Brown Street and is one block south of the intersection of 59th Avenue and Peoria. There’s a traffic light at Brown and the library is on the southwest corner. Turn west on Brown and then left into the main parking lot. Enter through the main doors by the coffee shop as all others will be locked. The start time 7 pm remains the same but the door will be opened at 6:30 so you can get settled.
This is considered an “Afterhours” program at the library meaning the library will not be accessible and library managers as well as security will be in attendance.
Stephanie the owner of the cafe is pulling out all stops for this event and is encouraging people to make reservations for table seating. There will be chair groupings as well but we expect the table seating will go pretty fast. Stephanie’s full crew will be on hand to take orders for coffee drinks and sandwiches as well as gelato and cheesecake desserts. You can also pre-order by calling 602-380-3951. The same number works for table reservations.
Please keep in mind that this is an event designed for adult listeners and is not a suitable program for children under the age of 12
So come sit back and relax and have some of the best coffee in the valley and enjoy an evening of stories set around a musical theme. Oh and if you have a KAZOO bring it along…you just never know what might happen.

We’ve got more StoryRise events happening in 2009. Currently, we’re planning on the third Saturday of every month to be our “regular” night. This year, we decided to use the “National Month of….” as the themes for each Saturday gathering. The featured tellers will be challenged to create the most interesting program of stories based somehow around the month’s theme. The Challenge: Take a theme that might be a bit “beige” and bring it to vibrant life.
2009 Schedule and Themes:
Sept 19:
National Courtesy Month (Relationships done right and some gone wrong.)
With Featured Storyteller Carol Knarr from Indiana.
October 17:
Adopt A Shelter Dog Month (Pooches and pets potpourri.)
With Featured Storyteller Harriet Cole
November 21:
International Drum Month (National Tellabration Night with Stories of Music and Song.)
With Featured Storyteller Elly Reidy.
December 19:
National Calendar Awareness Month (The past, present and the future all around us.)
With Featured Storyteller Liz Warren.

Come join us as storyteller Sean and Sandy share stories for adults. This isn’t reading and it’s not spoken word. It’s storytelling for adults. This month the theme is “National Photo Month.” YOU are encouraged to bring a family photo or your own to share a story with one or two other audience members. Too much fun.
Don’t bring the little ones, this isn’t for kiddies. You’ve been advised
